Hey, I’m NINO, a multi-award-winning Artist.

I believe in the power of constant exploration and evolution. My body of work serves as a testament to the journey of self-discovery, where each piece is a step towards unraveling the depths of creativity. Through my art, I seek to challenge conventions, provoke thought, and ignite the imagination of those who dare to see the world through fresh eyes.

I was born with a congenital condition that prevented me from walking. When living in an experimental hospital in Siberia at the age of 7, I had a life-changing experience. One day, my doctor (who invented a creative method of lengthening bones) showed me two x-rays of my leg. One had an empty space where the bone should have been. The other showed the bone intact. The bone grew where there was nothing before! This visual experience has shaped how I see life: full of creativity, experimentation, and endless possibilities.

I have been exhibiting art for over 30 years. The very first drawing I made that was selected for a show was a portrait of my Ukrainian grandmother. I was nine when I drew her from observation and it was hung in my school’s gallery in the former USSR republic of Georgia. Unfortunately, I never got my drawing back, but I still remember all the intricate details and colors - something I still like to include in my art.

I have an MFA in Imaging and Digital Arts and love drawing and painting with light and pixels as well as more traditional art media. “Graphy” in NINOgraphy come from a Greek word “graphein” which means to paint, draw, write. You can see more of my work in the permanent collections of the Library of Congress, Washington, DC, and Kiyosato Museum of Photographic Arts, Kiyosato, Japan.
