By far my favourite hand that I've ever drawn. All of the anatomy courses I took taught by Scott Eaton are paying off. :)
I started work on a new "secret" series. Once I have enough new paintings, I'll reveal what it is. In the meantime, here is a sneak peak of a work in progress. With this new series, I am also experimenting with a new way of working which looks something like this:
Step 1: Type the idea using iPad notes
Step 2: Image research
Step 3: DIGITAL sketch
Step 4: Pencil underdrawing
Step 5: Painting (gouache and ink and gold pigment where applicable)
Step 6: Digitise the unfinished image and experiment in Photoshop (the image above is at this stage)
Step 7: Back to painting (using the digital experiment as a guide) until it's complete
Back to work now! :D
Still working on this painting for the Alice in Wonderland themed group show at the Espionage Gallery. Very, very far from being done with it, but thought I'd share the process anyway. I think it's my most detailed painting to date. :)
In preparation for my next group show (Alice in Wonderland theme) at the Espionage Gallery, you can now see my work in progress on YouTube at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yajVf-JfnjI
Here is my first YouTube video! It's a new painting I started for an upcoming Alice in Wonderland themed exhibition at the Espionage Gallery. Stay tuned for new video updates as the painting progresses. ;)
Depending on the light, this painting changes colors . As you can see, it shines at night. Still a long way to go before I finish it.
This is a digital sketch for a gouache painting - a work in progress for an Alice in Wonderland themed exhibition at the Espionage Gallery in Adelaide, South Australia. More information and images coming soon.
