Calling Visual Artists and ANYONE who wants to join!!!
For the one year anniversary of the earthquake in Japan (March 2012), Toko Shiiki-Santos and I are working together on an international, collaborative project in hopes of organizing a fundraiser art exhibition. To help children who lost their families in Japan, we want to help construct the “Tohoku Rainbow House” for orphans.
Our plans are summarized in a little video. Please take 1 minute to watch it here:
2012 is the year of the dragon – a ruler of oceans and a symbol of transformation, victory and wealth. We are asking all participants to contribute to the creation of a dragon that will travel around the world before landing in Japan. If you are interested in participating, please use the template (above) to create your part of the dragon. At the conclusion of the project, we will join all the artwork together to make a long dragon. ALL money raised with your artwork will be sent to "Tohoku Rainbow House" Orphanage!
We plan to hold the first fundraiser exhibition around March 11, 2012 in Ann Arbor, MI. If you have suggestions for other places where the dragon could fly, please let us know! For questions, comments or suggestions, please feel free to ask us via Facebook ( Toko & Nino) or e-mail.
Lets make a long dragon together – a dragon that will cross many oceans and help transform
